Organizations involve for food safety and quality in India
In India, keeping our food safe and of good quality is a team effort involving several key organizations. Organizations Involve for Food Safety leading the way and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), which was set up under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006. FSSAI is responsible for setting rules on how food should be made, stored, sold, and imported to make sure it's safe for us to eat. It doesn’t work alone—other organizations also play important roles. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) helps by setting quality benchmarks and certifying food products. For food meant for export, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) ensures international standards are met. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare also supports with broader health policies. At the local level, state food safety departments check that rules are followed. All these groups work together to protect our health and build trust in the food we eat.
