Today it is rainy weather, due to which cold and flu keep developing at home and it is not possible to go to hospital every time because when it rains it becomes cold and it becomes very difficult to go anywhere in the rain. Keeping this in mind we start searching for home remedies on internet. Even after searching a lot we could not find the exact solution. That is why today I have brought all the cold and flu home remedies for you at the right place for which you do not need to search much.

As we know that our country is already very ignorant about spices and our country is the only country where all types of spices are available, so today we will find remedies for those spices for ourselves.

Kadha is a traditional Indian drink made with herbs and spices. It helps to boost your immune system and is often used to treat colds, coughs, and mild illnesses. Here's an easy recipe using ingredients that are usually found at home.

Ingredients (for 2 servings):

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 inch fresh ginger (grated or crushed)

  • 4–5 tulsi (holy basil) leaves

  • 1 stick cinnamon (or ½ tsp cinnamon powder)

  • 4–5 black peppercorns (crushed)

  • 2–3 cloves

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (or fresh turmeric if available)

  • 1 tsp honey or jaggery (optional, for taste)

  • Optional: ½ tsp fennel seeds or 1–2 cardamom pods for extra flavor


Steps to Make Kadha:

1.  Boil water
  • In a saucepan, add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.

2.  Add herbs and spices
  • Add ginger, tulsi leaves, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, and turmeric to the boiling water.

3. Simmer
  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10–15 minutes, or until the water reduces to about half (1 cup).

4.  Strain the kadha
  • Turn off the heat and strain the mixture into a cup using a fine sieve.

5.  Add honey or jaggery (optional)
  • Once slightly cooled (not too hot), add honey or jaggery for sweetness and additional benefits.

6. Serve warm
  • Drink it warm. You can have it once or twice a day, especially during cold or flu seasons.
